The Noel Group is proud to partner with a prestigious client in the hospitality industry to search for a Sous Chef to join the culinary team of a renowned gastropub located in the heart of Galway. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious professional to contribute to one of Ireland’s most vibrant food destinations.
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver high-quality, seasonal dishes that reflect the gastropub’s commitment to fresh, locally sourced ingredients. You will be responsible for supporting daily kitchen operations, leading the team in the Head Chef’s absence, and ensuring consistency, creativity, and compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including menu planning, food preparation, and team supervision.

Ensure dishes are prepared to the highest standard of quality and presentation.

Lead, train, and mentor junior kitchen staff.

Monitor inventory and assist in ordering supplies while minimising food waste.

Maintain compliance with HACCP and all health & safety regulations.

Contribute to the development of seasonal and special event menus.
Requirements:
-
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie in a high-volume gastropub or similar environment.

Passion for modern Irish cuisine and high-quality, locally sourced ingredients.

Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.

Must be currently residing in Ireland and hold the legal right to work in the Republic of Ireland.
