Job Title: Senior Procurement Officer
Duration: Fixed Term Contract – Until 30th September 2026
Salary: €59,417 per annum
Location: Dublin

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Procurement Officer (Grade 7) to support strategic procurement initiatives across the local government sector. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing procurement programmes that deliver value, compliance, and efficiency within a dynamic public sector environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with cross-sector working groups to identify procurement requirements.
  • Develop Request for Tenders (RFTs) and Tender Response Documents (TRDs) in line with LGMA strategic objectives.
  • Prepare and manage budgets to ensure procurement programmes are delivered within financial constraints.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with local authorities and external agencies to ensure coordinated procurement delivery.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for Project and Programme Boards and other key stakeholder meetings.
  • Represent the LGMA at meetings and events as required.
  • Ensure procurement policies and procedures align with best practices and are clearly documented and communicated.
  • Manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously, delivering on time and within scope.
  • Provide effective people and task management, ensuring team clarity on roles and deliverables.
  • Undertake other related duties as required.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of public procurement legislation and guidelines.
  • Experience in developing and publishing single-party frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Office of Government Procurement (OGP) frameworks.
  • Experience using the eTenders platform.
  • Proven experience in managing and implementing Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS).
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary or multi-agency environment.
  • Previous experience in an ICT technical role is an advantage.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and data analysis skills.
