Our client is a leading provider of design and construction services to the pharmaceutical, biotech, and semiconductor industries. Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of cleanroom facilities for our their in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and semiconductor sectors. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing complex projects in regulated industries, a solid understanding of cleanroom requirements, and a passion for delivering high-quality results on time and within budget. Preferably we are looking for candidates based in Cork, Midlands or Dublin.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coordinate, and manage cleanroom design and construction projects from initiation to completion.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and client stakeholders to develop project scope, objectives, and timelines.
  • Ensure alignment with client expectations, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that the project is completed within financial constraints.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules, identifying potential risks and addressing delays in a proactive manner.
  • Track and report on project progress, costs, and timelines to internal teams and clients.
  • Ensure all cleanroom projects comply with industry regulations, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), ISO standards, and relevant cleanroom classifications (ISO 14644-1).
  • Oversee commissioning, qualification, and validation processes to ensure that all cleanrooms meet regulatory standards.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of necessary documentation to clients and regulatory bodies
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and challenges, including safety, compliance, and design issues.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential delays, budget overruns, or technical challenges.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to stakeholders, addressing any concerns or adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through regular feedback and the timely resolution of any project-related issues.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, project coordinators, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.
  • Coordinate with the internal design, engineering, and construction teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Oversee the final stages of the project, including handover to the client, ensuring all punch lists are completed and all documentation is in order.
  • Provide post-construction support, addressing any operational issues and facilitating maintenance and training as needed.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in project management within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or semiconductor industries, with a focus on cleanroom design, construction, and commissioning.

    • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, highly regulated construction projects on time and within budget.

  • Education:

    • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is required.

    • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is preferred.

Key skills:

  • Strong understanding of cleanroom design, construction, and commissioning, including regulatory requirements (e.g., GMP, ISO standards).

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and Office suite tools.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, with a strong focus on delivering projects with safety as a priority.
