Reports To: Sous Chef / Head Chef

We are looking for a talented and motivated Pastry Chef to join the dynamic kitchen team. The successful candidate will be passionate about food, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and consistently aim for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes within your section to the highest standards
  • Operating and managing the pastry section of the kitchen and liaising with the Head chef to ensure a successful working environment.
  • Preparing ingredients and handling baking and other kitchen equipment.
  • Creating pastries, baked goods, and confections, by following a set recipe.
  • Maintain consistency, portion control, and presentation across all dishes
  • Decorating pastries and desserts to ensure beautiful and tasteful presentation.
  • Monitoring and Ordering the stock.
  • To operate in a safe and responsible manner with recognised techniques.
  • Contribute ideas for menu development and seasonal specials
  • Ensure that all food is prepared in line with health and safety regulations
  • Support junior staff with training and guidance as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in your work area
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and front of house
  • Monitor stock and report any shortages or discrepancies

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar position, preferably in a 4* hotel environment
  • A genuine passion for food and a flair for creativity
  • Be HACCP trained and hygiene focused
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
