Reports To: Director / Owner
Responsible For: All Hotel Staff (Junior & Senior)
Company Overview
Our client is a prestigious hotel property with a strong emphasis on heritage, service excellence, and destination experiences. Known for delivering high standards across food & beverage, events, and guest satisfaction, the hotel is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead daily operations, support strategic growth, and ensure exceptional service delivery.
Role Overview
The General Manager will take full responsibility for the operational, financial, and commercial performance of the hotel. Reporting directly to the Director/Owner, the role involves overseeing all departments-particularly food & beverage operations-with a focus on maximizing profitability, enhancing guest satisfaction, and driving a high-performance culture among staff.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for an experienced hospitality professional with strong commercial acumen, team management skills, and a genuine passion for guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership

Lead and oversee all hotel departments including F&B, front office, housekeeping, events, and kitchen

Ensure alignment of day-to-day operations with long-term business objectives

Conduct regular inspections of all service areas to maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and quality

Monitor and manage food and beverage profitability, stock control, and cost efficiency
Strategic & Commercial Management

Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to optimize revenue

Collaborate with department heads to create and execute business plans and budgets
-
Analyze financial performance reports and implement corrective actions where needed

Drive guest satisfaction through innovation, service excellence, and quality assurance
Human Resources & Training
-
Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, training, and development of all staff

Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and teamwork

Identify high-potential employees and create development plans for succession

Oversee employee relations, ensuring adherence to HR policies and employment law
Health & Safety & Compliance

Ensure strict compliance with HACCP, IS 340, fire safety, and emergency procedures

Conduct risk assessments and ensure proactive hazard mitigation

Maintain compliance with local licensing, labour laws, and health regulations
Guest Experience

Ensure VIP guests and special events are managed with the highest attention to detail

Actively address and resolve guest complaints or issues

Promote a culture of service where “going the extra mile” is the standard
Miscellaneous

Participate in regular meetings and strategic planning with ownership

Flexibility to assume Duty Manager responsibilities and support special functions as required

Uphold the reputation and values of the hotel through consistent professional conduct
Candidate Profile
Experience
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior hotel management or General Manager role
-
Strong background in food & beverage operations within a luxury or high-volume hospitality environment
-
Proven experience in budget control, forecasting, and financial reporting

Experience managing weddings, events, or destination-focused services is highly desirable

Qualifications
