We are seeking an experienced Executive Pastry Chef to join our client culinary team. The ideal Executive Pastry Chef will have exceptional leadership skills and a passion for creating delicious and visually captivating pastries. The Executive Pastry Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the pastry kitchen and creating innovative and high-quality desserts.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the pastry team, including hiring, training, and scheduling
- Develop new pastry recipes and create innovative dessert menus
- Ensure that all pastries are prepared and presented according to the highest standards
- Manage inventory and control costs to meet budget goals
- Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation
- Stay current with industry trends and implement best practices for pastry production
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Executive Pastry Chef or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of baking techniques and pastry arts
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Creativity and passion for creating visually stunning and delicious pastries
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen environment
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus
Day-to-day:
- Supervising and coordinating the activities of the pastry team
- Developing new pastry recipes and experimenting with flavor combinations
- Conducting inventory checks and ordering supplies as needed
- Overseeing the preparation and presentation of desserts for service
- Collaborating with the executive chef and other kitchen staff on menu planning and special events
- Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen
