Duty Manager

Job description

We are seeking a versatile and experienced Grocery Store Duty Manager to join one of our industry leading clients and assist in the day-to-day operations. As the Duty Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that grocery department runs smoothly, maintaining high customer service standards, and leading a devoted team of employees.

42hr per week / 5 days over 7

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operation of the grocery store, including allocating responsibilities to staff members, checking stock levels, ordering required supplies, and maintaining a clean, safe workplace for both employees and consumers
• Hiring and training new staff members according to company’s standards
• Maintain company’s culture, encouraging teams performance and productivity
• Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise within the team in a professional manner
• Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and place orders with suppliers to ensure proper stock levels and minimize waste
• Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner, to ensure they have a satisfying shopping experience
• You will be in charge of monitoring the store’s finances. This include setting budgets, monitoring spending, and checking daily sales to ensure profits

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a supervisor or manager within the retail or grocery industry
• Strong leadership and communication skills. Previous record of people management skills
• Some knowledge or previous experience in HR would be beneficial
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and retail best practices
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (weekend/evening shifts on rotation)
