Assistant Manager – South Dublin (Merrion Gates Area)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Manager to join a well-established management team in a busy retail environment. This role is perfect for a motivated and dedicated individual looking to take the next step in their career. You’ll support the Site Manager in delivering business strategy and will take full responsibility for the site in their absence.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
-
Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure it is a consistent priority across the team

Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and promptly, escalating where necessary
-
Lead by example in providing a welcoming and helpful customer experience
Store Operations & Standards
-
Support the Site Manager with the efficient day-to-day running of the store
-
Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and hygiene throughout the store and forecourt
-
Ensure daily operational checklists are completed and store procedures followed
Team Leadership
-
Lead, organise, and support a team of staff effectively
-
Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive working environment
-
Encourage teamwork and lead by example
-
Assist with training, development, and performance management of team members
-
Provide regular feedback, motivation, and recognition
Stock Management
-
Ensure accurate stock ordering and receiving
-
Merchandise products effectively to maximise sales
-
Monitor stock levels to minimise loss and waste
-
Conduct regular stock takes
-
Work towards achieving agreed sales and margin targets
Health, Safety & Compliance
-
Act as Health & Safety Officer for the site
-
Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation, including the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005

Follow and promote company health and safety policies and procedures
-
Maintain vigilance regarding site security and escalate concerns appropriately
General Duties
-
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
-
Comply with employment legislation relevant to retail operations
-
Ensure proper uniform and grooming standards are upheld
-
Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
-
Build strong working relationships with colleagues and management
-
Carry out other duties as reasonably assigned
Candidate Requirements
-
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within retail or a similar environment
-
Food safety knowledge (Level 1 & 2) is an advantage
-
Strong leadership and team management skills
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
-
High energy and a strong work ethic
-
Commitment to delivering excellent customer service
-
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment
