Job description

Noel Group is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled assistant deli manager to join our clients deli team in Little Island and help with the food preparation and servicing of customers. As an assistant deli manager, your primary tasks will be to provide great customer service, operate in a team-oriented atmosphere, and manage the daily operations and overall service of the hot counter while maintaining a strong customer care approach.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the deli manager with numerous administrative tasks to ensure the store’s optimum performance.
  • Prepare and assemble a variety of deli items, including sandwiches, salads, wraps, and side dishes, according to established recipes and company standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, including food storage, preparation surfaces, and equipment.
  • Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation, restocking supplies, and monitoring ingredient levels.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the safety and freshness of all deli products.
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service by taking orders and fulfilling customer requests.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours and maintain a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Uphold company policies and procedures, including food handling and health and safety protocols.

Key requirements:

  • Previous experience in food preparation and service, preferably in a deli or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  • Passion for food and customer service, with a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
