Are you a hospitality professional with a passion for service excellence and team leadership? We’re hiring on behalf of our client, a highly regarded 4-star hotel in Carlow, for an experienced Reception Manager to lead their front office operations with warmth, efficiency, and confidence.

About the Role:

As Reception Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the front desk (5 in the team), ensuring each guest receives a seamless and welcoming experience. You’ll lead a passionate team, deliver 4-star service standards, and play a key role in staff training, time and attendance management, and performance monitoring. Your leadership will be essential in creating a warm, organised, and guest-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the front desk team to deliver an exceptional guest experience, both in person and over the phone

  • Ensure smooth shift operations and uphold all company standards

  • Manage reservations and maximise room revenue through up-selling

  • Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally and proactively

  • Supervise staff scheduling, timekeeping, and performance management

  • Ensure compliance with all financial procedures, health & safety regulations, and hotel SOPs

  • Liaise with housekeeping and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery

  • Participate in department meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a reception supervisory or management role within a hotel environment

  • A natural leader with a customer-first mindset

  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in front office systems and booking platforms (training provided if needed)

  • Passionate about delivering high-quality service and leading by example
