At Noel Group, we are seeking an experienced Head Chef to manage the daily operations of a hotel restaurant, ensuring high-quality meal preparation and presentation. Our client is a beautiful 4 star hotel in Co. Cavan. This role involves leading the kitchen team, maintaining food safety standards, and managing cost-effective kitchen practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to protocols.
- Develop and motivate the team for optimal performance.
- Create and maintain efficient kitchen schedules.
- Develop and update menus based on seasonal ingredients and guest preferences.
- Ensure dishes are of high quality and consistency.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and F&B Manager on seasonal specials.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet restaurant standards.
- Manage meal orders and ensure timely preparation.
- Maintain consistency in food quality and presentation.
- Oversee inventory, deliveries, and ingredient management.
- Ensure cost control and minimize waste.
- Build relationships with suppliers to secure quality ingredients.
- Ensure kitchen meets health and safety standards.
- Implement food safety and cleanliness protocols.
- Perform regular equipment and workspace inspections.
- Monitor and control food, labor, and kitchen costs.
- Work with hotel management to stay within financial parameters.
- Implement waste-reduction strategies without compromising service.
- Address customer feedback to ensure satisfaction.
- Foster positive relationships with hotel departments for smooth operations.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as Head Chef, ideally in a hotel environment.
- Culinary degree or professional qualification.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
- Excellent leadership and team management.
- Menu creation and development experience.
- Budgeting and cost control knowledge.
- Strong communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience managing large kitchen teams.
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and diverse menus.
- Experience with large events or conferences.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
