Join a dynamic Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) team supporting a global manufacturing client. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Technician to ensure the site operates as a safe, attractive, and efficient environment for all employees and visitors. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility, tackling diverse challenges in electrical building services and maintenance.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and reactive tasks on electrical building services, including LV systems, PAT testing, RCD/RCBO testing, lighting, HVAC, AV systems, building controls, and power distribution.
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) as scheduled through the Plant CMMS (Maximo) system.
- Utilize the CMMS (Maximo) to log, track, and close maintenance tasks within agreed timeframes.
- Manage portable electrical equipment testing records and issue fixed installation and general test certificates.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on electrical systems and fixtures to trade standards.
- Coordinate with the service desk and supervisor to resolve technical and non-technical queries promptly, ensuring adherence to service level agreements.
- Plan, organize, and execute minor installations, upgrades, and improvement works.
- Liaise with external contractors for maintenance and breakdown services as required.
- Undertake intrusive maintenance activities during weekends or outside of normal operating hours.
- Support spares management, ensuring timely transactions and procurement of materials.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, including permit-to-work procedures, risk assessments, lockout/tagout, and working at heights.
Skills and requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical building services and plant engineering.
- Level 6 certificate in Electrical craft practice or equivalent.
- Proven experience in electrical building services maintenance, ideally in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.
- Trained in I.S.3217 the Irish Standard for Emergency Lighting.
- Proficiency in using CMMS systems such as Maximo.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices related to the maintenance industry, supported by relevant training.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan and execute tasks effectively.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to liaise with the service desk, contractors, and other stakeholders.
