Location: Ballymount, Dublin 24
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Saturday

Salary: up to €40K

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of a busy retail store. This role includes overseeing sales, stock management, merchandising, customer service, staff management, and ensuring the store operates efficiently and profitably.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of store operations, ensuring maximum profitability and smooth workflow.

  • Ensure products are displayed, priced, and labelled to the highest retail standards.

  • Maintain stock levels so shelves are always full and products readily available.

  • Conduct a “Ready for Business” walk-through each morning and manage the sales floor throughout the day.

  • Achieve sales targets and monitor agreed margin targets.

  • Oversee cash management, including end-of-day procedures, bank lodgements, and credit note monitoring.

  • Ensure the shop floor and showroom are clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety standards.

  • Monitor staff performance, daily procedures, and store operations.

  • Liaise with suppliers regarding stock, promotions, and in-store events.

  • Organise staff rosters, manage leave, sickness, and ensure adequate coverage.

  • Provide training and development for staff to maintain high standards of customer service.

  • Implement Health & Safety procedures and ensure staff follow safety protocols.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Branch Manager.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing a professional retail store, ideally in DIY, home improvement, or building materials.

  • Excellent customer service skills with a professional, approachable attitude.

  • Highly motivated, innovative, and attentive to detail.

  • Strong people management experience, with the ability to lead and develop a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to remain calm under pressure.

  • Team player who can work collaboratively and independently.

  • Proficient in IT and Microsoft Office Suite.
