Health & Safety Engineer – Solar Construction Project (6-Month Contract)

Location: Galway, Ireland
Type: Full-Time, (6-Month Contract)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Engineer to join our team on a large-scale Solar Farm Construction Project in Galway. This is a 6-month contract role with an immediate start, ideal for someone with strong site-based safety experience in civil or renewable energy projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing and monitoring all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements, ensuring that all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with legislation and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain project-specific Health & Safety management systems.

  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company safety procedures.

  • Lead toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings for site personnel.

  • Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions.

  • Liaise with project management, contractors, and client representatives regarding safety performance.

  • Promote a strong safety culture across the entire site team.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Health & Safety, Environmental, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role within construction, civil engineering, or renewable energy projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of Irish H&S legislation and best practices.

  • Experience on solar or electrical infrastructure projects is an advantage.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Strong reporting and documentation abilities.

  • Valid Safe Pass and full clean driver’s licence required.
