Job description

We are seeking a reliable and adaptable Relief Chef to provide cover for kitchen operations during staff absences, annual leave, peak business periods, or special events. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, and supporting kitchen teams to ensure smooth daily operations. The role is based in Donegal/Letterkenny, and applicants must be willing to travel to various locations as required to provide relief cover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals to agreed standards.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
  • Assist with stock control and minimise food waste.
  • Support the kitchen team during service.
  • Cover shifts across different locations when required.

Requirements

  • Previous chef or catering experience.
  • Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and reliable, with good time-management skills.
  • Food Safety/Hygiene certification desirable.
