Job description

Noel Group are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Pastry Chef for our client in Cork. The new Pastry chef will be able to independently manage a pastry section, covering bar, bistro, and function desserts. You will be reporting to the Sous / Head Chef.

Our client is a 4 star hotel in Cork. They are dedicated to delivering exceptional culinary experiences. With a focus on quality and creativity, the kitchen team works together to provide exquisite dishes that delight guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Sous Chef and Head Chef in all areas of kitchen management.
  • Adhere to instructions from the Health & Safety Manager and actively assist in implementing necessary controls.
  • Ensure that kitchen porters complete their tasks to the required standard.
  • Oversee the smooth operation of service, checking the quality of every dish before it leaves the kitchen.
  • Communicate daily updates with chefs and allocate tasks as required.
  • Supervise all outgoing dishes to ensure they meet the necessary standards.
  • Assist in maintaining the quality of ingredients and working with trusted suppliers.
  • Monitor and assist with proper stock rotation to minimize waste.
  • Prepare and organize all materials and utensils needed for each shift.
  • Collaborate with other departments and provide assistance where needed.
  • Foster a positive and professional attitude among staff and toward customers.
  • Properly operate and maintain all kitchen machinery as needed.
  • Utilize cleaning solvents and utensils as directed to maintain a clean environment.
  • Handle customer inquiries and address complaints professionally.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all hotel facilities and services available.
  • Effectively communicate hotel facilities and offerings to guests.
  • Uphold the highest standards of personal hygiene at all times.
  • Wear the designated uniform as provided.
  • Take appropriate care to ensure the health and safety of yourself, colleagues, and anyone else on the premises.
  • Participate in fire and accident drills to ensure preparedness.
  • Report and, where possible, address incidents involving fire, accidents, or damages.
  • Attend Service Excellence Training Courses to enhance skills.
  • Actively promote Service Excellence within the department.
  • Follow all departmental standards to ensure outstanding Service Excellence.
