Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Manager to lead our hotel operations during the evening and overnight hours. As the Night Manager, you will be the linchpin of our overnight operations, ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of our guests while overseeing a smooth-running hotel. You will wear many hats, from providing exceptional guest service to managing staff and handling emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Be the primary point of contact for guests arriving, checking out, or requiring assistance during the night shift. Respond to inquiries, resolve concerns promptly and professionally, and ensure guest satisfaction remains a top priority.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to night staff, including housekeeping, security, and front desk personnel. Motivate and empower your team to deliver exceptional service while adhering to company standards.
  • Conduct regular security checks of the hotel premises to ensure guest and staff safety. Be prepared to handle emergencies calmly and effectively, following established protocols.
  • Complete the night audit, reconciling all accounts and ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Maintain a watchful eye over hotel operations, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise during the night shift.
  • Liaise effectively with all departments, including day staff, to ensure seamless communication and a smooth handover of operations.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports of all overnight activities, including guest arrivals, departures, incidents, and security checks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel operations or a related field, with some experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Proven track record of providing exceptional guest service.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding creative solutions under pressure.
  • Impeccable communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable interacting with guests and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, nighttime environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software is a plus.
