Meetings & Events Sales Manager – Galway (€55,000)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Meetings & Events Sales Manager to join a leading hotel in Galway. The role offers the chance to take ownership of the meetings and events function, manage a small team, and play a key role in driving business growth and performance.
You’ll work closely with senior management, contributing to the hotel’s commercial strategy and ensuring that meetings, conferences, weddings, and events are delivered to a high standard. This is a hands-on, customer-focused role that combines leadership, sales, and event management within a supportive environment that values initiative and professional development.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and support a team of two executives to meet business needs.

Work with senior sales leadership to identify and develop new opportunities in line with the hotel’s strategy.

Collaborate with Business Development and Account Management teams to grow existing and new accounts.

Promote and convert leads for corporate conferences, meetings, weddings, and special events.

Partner with Sales and Revenue teams to achieve budgeted event revenue.

Participate in sales activities including telesales, client visits, networking events, and familiarisation trips.

Build strong relationships with key partners, such as the Galway Convention Bureau and destination management companies.

Maximise revenue by upselling across all areas and finalising prospects into confirmed bookings.

Contribute to the quarterly and annual sales and marketing plans with new ideas and initiatives.

Conduct property show-rounds and site inspections for potential clients.
About You
-
2-3 years’ experience in a sales or meetings & events role, ideally within a hotel or customer-facing environment.

Strong leadership skills with experience managing a small team.

Results-driven and confident managing budgets, targets, and revenue goals.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting relationships.

Organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with Opera or similar booking systems is an advantage.
Salary: €55,000 per year
