Position: Workshop Technician (Mechanic)
Location: Dublin South
Salary: €53,500

Role Overview
A full-time Workshop Technician (Mechanic) is responsible for carrying out vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs in line with manufacturer and workshop procedures. The role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, identifying required parts, and accurately recording work completed through workshop systems. The technician ensures vehicles are returned in good mechanical condition and maintains a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment. This position requires a fully qualified motor mechanic with strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and effective communication skills, along with a valid driving licence.
The Technician you will carry out all repair, maintenance and service work as directed by the Service Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repair (SMR) work on customer vehicles in line with manufacturer procedures and workshop standards.
- Inspect, assess, and diagnose mechanical and electrical vehicle issues.
- Identify and request parts required for additional repair work when vehicles are in the workshop.
- Accurately record all SMR activities using workshop systems such as job cards, DMS, or electronic vehicle health checks (eVHC).
- Ensure vehicles are returned to customers in a clean condition and in good mechanical order.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and security of the workshop, equipment, and vehicles in line with health and safety standards.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly stored after use.
- Respond to queries relating to vehicle repairs and maintenance in collaboration with relevant team members.
- Carry out additional duties as required by workshop management.
Requirements
- Qualified Motor Mechanic with a QQI Level 6 (or equivalent) qualification.
- Proven experience working as a time-served motor mechanic.
- Strong practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in motor vehicles.
- Ability to diagnose issues and carry out effective repairs.
- Full B Driving Licence required.
- Ability to produce clear and accurate written reports.
