Location: Kilkenny (HQ) | Site-Based with Regional Travel

Our client is a well-established, growing organisation employing over 100 people, with multiple locations throughout Ireland and a strong headquarters presence in Kilkenny. As part of a planned succession process, our client is now seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead the business into its next phase of growth.

The Role

This is a senior leadership position suited to someone who can operate at a strategic level while remaining hands-on and close to the detail of the business. The Managing Director will work closely with the current Director during a structured handover, ensuring continuity, knowledge transfer, and long-term success.

The role is site-based in Kilkenny and will involve regular visits to project locations across Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic and operational leadership across the organisation
• Lead and support senior teams including Contracts, Estimating, Accounts, Purchasing, Maintenance, IT & Administration, and Testing
• Drive strong commercial performance and profitable project delivery
• Implement scalable processes, systems, and governance to support continued growth
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Act as a senior representative of the business with clients, partners, and stakeholders
• Balance long-term strategic planning with day-to-day operational oversight

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience at Managing Director, Operations Director, or General Manager level
• Background in electrical contracting, M&E, construction, or a related project-based environment
• Strong commercial and financial acumen
• A visible, approachable leader with a people-first mindset
• Comfortable getting to know all aspects of the business, from strategy to site activity
• Based in, or willing to relocate to, Kilkenny
