Job Title: Kitchen Porter

Location: Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork

Role Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Reports To: Head Chef / Kitchen Manager

We are currently recruiting a reliable and motivated Kitchen Porter for a well-established hospitality operation renowned for its high standards, quality food offering, and professional kitchen environment. A well-established food service operation based in Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork is currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join their team on a full-time basis.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen team and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwashers
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness across kitchen areas, including surfaces and food preparation areas
  • Ensure correct waste disposal and maintain organised workspaces
  • Support chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and slicing
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and organising deliveries and kitchen supplies
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, well maintained, and stored correctly
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times
  • Support the overall efficiency and organisation of kitchen operations

Key Requirements:

  • Previous kitchen porter or similar experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and handle manual tasks
  • Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation practices is an advantage
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic
