Role: HGV Driver

Location: Dublin

Job Type: Permanent/Full time

Start Date: As soon as possible

Reporting to: Logistics Manager

Noel Group are currently partnered with a global Logistics company for the value-added distribution of chemistry and related products and services who are urgently seeking a HGV Driver to join their team in Dublin.

Key Responsibilities

To safely deliver & or collect goods. To ensure compliance to ADR and all other legislative requirements and including Good Distribution Practice (GDP) & Food Safety requirements.

KEY MEASURES

  • Ensure correct goods are delivered to the correct customer in good condition
  • The achievement of zero blameworthy accidents
  • To provide the required level of co-operation with customers
  • To ensure that the vehicle is properly presented, operated and maintained
  • Compliance to all company policies, procedures and legislative requirements including Good Distribution Practice (GDP) & Food Safety
  • Audit or Inspection non conformances

Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure adequate Load Security at all times in line with company rules. Complete Security checks / clearance as required.
  • Ensure that all necessary actions are taken to secure both the vehicle & the load, including contacting our Logistics Department at least twice during the course of the working day.
  • Comply with legal and company Vehicle segregation rules.
  • To ensure that vehicle Tachograph are Operated & used in the correct manner.
  • To ensure that the correct IBC & Drum discharge Operation is observed at all times.
  • To load & unload as required by your line manager.
  • To check the accuracy of the load before commencement of deliveries.
  • To utilise the correct PPE and manual handling equipment.
  • Accurately record information regarding delivery and collection on the correct Company paperwork.
  • Safely deliver/collect goods too or from customers/supplier’s premises.
  • Drive in a safe and appropriate manner at all times.
  • Report all accidents, incidents, near misses or any Security issues to the Logistics Manager or Logistics coordinators in his absence.
  • Attend all relevant training courses as instructed.
  • Ensure smart appearance at all times.
  • To be courteous at all times.
  • Assist with the training of new personnel as requested by line management.
  • To carry out driver’s daily vehicle check and report defects via daily defect report procedure.
  • Ensure that notified defects are rectified.
  • Ensure that the vehicle first aid kit, fire extinguishers and spill kit are maintained.
  • In the event of an emergency comply with documented emergency procedures relevant to the incident.
  • To regularly clean the interior and exterior of the vehicle.
  • To ensure compliance to all quality and responsible care procedures including GDP & Food Safety.
  • Co-operate on all matters concerned with any Health, safety, training, Security Vetting, legislative and environmental issues.
  • Ensure Driver Debrief is documented daily.

Key Skills

Haz chem/ADR licence, cpc’s up to date, Safe pass would be an advantage
