The Noel Group is delighted to be recruiting a Head of Maintenance on behalf of our client, a well-established 4-star hotel in South Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to take ownership of all maintenance operations across a busy hotel property, including associated leisure and parking facilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, safety, compliance, and upkeep of all facilities while implementing a proactive and cost-effective maintenance strategy.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Head of Maintenance will oversee all installation, repair, and preventive maintenance activities across the property. The role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities of the Head of Maintenance:
- Oversee all plant, machinery, and equipment, ensuring they remain in safe working order at all times.
- Manage maintenance schedules, projects, and departmental budgets.
- Coordinate and oversee external contractors, ensuring all repairs and maintenance work are completed by suitably qualified professionals.
- Liaise closely with the General Manager to prioritise daily maintenance requirements.
- Develop and manage a preventive maintenance programme to minimise downtime and long-term repair costs.
- Ensure all compliance certificates and statutory records are maintained in line with current legislation.
- Oversee the maintenance and presentation of all internal and external areas, including hotel, leisure, and parking facilities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and operate an effective repairs reporting system.
- Respond promptly and effectively to maintenance emergencies.
- Ensure full compliance with Fire, Health & Safety, Hygiene, and relevant workplace legislation.
- Operate in accordance with the company’s Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in training and development programmes as required.
Requirements of the Head of Maintenance:
- Previous experience in a similar Maintenance Management role within a hotel environment is essential.
- Strong knowledge of building services, plant equipment, and facilities management.
- Proven ability to manage maintenance schedules, budgets, and contractor relationships.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional and effective communication skills when dealing with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
