Fresh Food Manager | Retail Grocery | Dublin 15
Salary: €40,000-€45,000 per annum
We are currently seeking an experienced and ambitious Fresh Food Manager to join a busy retail grocery site in Dublin 15. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manager with a passion for fresh food, retail operations, and team leadership.
The Fresh Food Manager will take overall responsibility for the performance of the fresh food department, including deli, bakery, and other fresh offerings, ensuring high standards of food quality, customer service, operational efficiency, and compliance.
Main Duties:
Fresh Food Operations

Day-to-day management of the fresh food department

Support and coach deli team and manager to deliver new and existing offerings

Optimise sales, margins, participation, and profitability across the fresh food area
-
Implement best practices through coaching, monitoring, observation, and training
-
Achieve departmental KPIs including sales, margin, participation, and waste reduction
-
Conduct operational checks: pricing, costings, departmental standards, stock holding, ordering, and stocktaking

Drive efficiencies in process, labour management, and workflow
Team Management
-
Lead, motivate, and develop the fresh food team
-
Provide feedback, coaching, and support to staff and management
-
Foster strong relationships with site management and senior leadership

Support other sites during absences, recruitment processes, or seasonal demands
Food Safety & Hygiene
-
Ensure HACCP and food safety systems are implemented, monitored, and maintained
-
Conduct regular food safety audits and implement corrective actions as required
-
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards
Health, Safety & Welfare
-
Comply with all health and safety regulations and company policies
-
Promote safe working practices and ensure correct use of PPE
-
Maintain security awareness and escalate issues appropriately
General Responsibilities

Comply with all company policies and legislation relevant to operations

Represent the company professionally at all times

Ensure effective time management, task prioritisation, and confidentiality

Undertake any additional tasks required to support business needs
Requirements:
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Fresh Food Management role

Strong passion for fresh food and retail operations
-
Proven people management and leadership capability
-
Excellent communication, delegation, and coaching skills
-
Knowledge of HACCP, food safety regulations, and compliance standards
-
Target-driven, KPI-focused, and results-oriented
-
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, retail environment
