Noel Group are recruiting an Estimator for one of Ireland‘s leading modular construction company, specializing in designing and building high-quality offsite modular systems. With over four decades of experience, they are dedicated to providing innovative, sustainable, and efficient modular solutions across a range of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, and healthcare.

Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-driven Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for modular construction projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability. This role involves close collaboration with our design, engineering, and procurement teams to create precise costings and support the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for modular building projects, covering materials, labor, and subcontractor costs.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and 3D models to extract quantities and prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Work closely with design and engineering teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering solutions.
• Obtain and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
• Assist in preparing tender documents and proposals for new business opportunities.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to address potential project uncertainties.
• Maintain an up-to-date cost database for materials, labor, and subcontractor rates.
• Support the procurement team in contract negotiations and supplier selection.
• Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to monitor actual costs against estimates and address any discrepancies.
• Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and market pricing to ensure estimates are competitive and compliant.

Key Requirements

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in estimating, preferably within the modular or offsite construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction costs, materials, and methodologies, particularly in modular and volumetric construction.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Excel; experience with 3D modeling and BIM is a plus.
• Ability to accurately interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
• Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy of cost estimates.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
