My client is a reputable builder-developer with an outstanding reputation for delivering excellence across the Irish construction landscape. Known for their commitment to quality and innovation, they specialize in high-density, landmark residential projects. This is an opportunity to join a Tier-1 team that prides itself on superior technical execution and a “safety-first” culture.

Role Overview

As the Construction Design Manager, you will be the primary technical lead responsible for the seamless integration of all utility infrastructureincluding power, water, gas, telecoms, and district heatinginto a high-density, three-tower residential development.

Working closely with my clients senior leadership, you will bridge the gap between architectural design and physical execution, ensuring that the complex utility requirements for over 500 units are met with precision, compliance, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utility Coordination: Lead the design and implementation strategy for all primary and secondary utilities (ESB, Uisce Éireann, Gas Networks Ireland, etc.) across multiple towers.
  • Design Integration: Manage the technical interface between structural, architectural, and MEP teams to ensure zero spatial conflicts in utility routing.
  • Regulatory & Authority Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for local authorities and utility providers to secure connections and ensure full compliance with Irish building regulations (including BCAR).
  • Technical Oversight: Review and approve technical drawings, ensuring they are optimized for both constructability and long-term maintenance.
  • BIM Coordination: Utilize digital construction tools to monitor the project’s digital twin, leading clash detection workshops to resolve issues before they reach the site.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Degree Qualification: A Level 8 Honours Degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Regional Experience: Must have a proven track record of delivering similar large-scale residential or high-rise projects within Ireland, with a deep understanding of Irish utility provider standards.
  • Right to Work: Candidates must have a valid and current right to work in Ireland. Please note that visa sponsorship is not on offer for this position.
