Clerical Officer (12-Month Contract)

Job Title: Clerical Officer
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Location: On-site (3 days per week attendance required. This is not a hybrid or remote role)
Salary: €19,152.67 per annum (before tax)
Annual Leave: 13 days per annum
Hours of Work: 22.5 net hours per week (7.5 hours per day) equivalent to 41 hours 15 minutes gross per week.

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and organised Clerical Officer to join our team on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative and customer service support while working closely with colleagues and management to ensure efficient service delivery.

This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a busy environment while maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer and public queries via telephone, email and face-to-face interaction.
  • Provide accurate information and excellent customer service at all times.
  • Carry out a variety of general administrative duties including filing, photocopying, data entry and records management.
  • Support managers and colleagues with day-to-day operational activities.
  • Manage correspondence, emails and telephone enquiries efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate, organised and up-to-date records.
  • Utilise Microsoft Office applications, databases and other IT systems on a daily basis.
  • Complete work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Follow established procedures and protocols.
  • Assist with reception duties and other administrative tasks as required.
  • Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the role.

Essential Requirements

Candidates must:

  • Hold a Leaving Certificate (or equivalent qualification) as a minimum.
  • Possess strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Be capable of managing workload effectively and meeting deadlines.
  • Be able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in their approach to work.
  • Have a strong customer-service orientation.
  • Be capable of handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
