Civil Engineer – Sports Facility Development

A leading Irish contractor is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer for the delivery of a large-scale sports facility project in North County Dublin. This is a full-time, permanent position offering an excellent salary and benefits package.

About the Role

The successful candidate will join a dynamic project team responsible for the full civil works package on a new sports facility development. You will play a key role in setting-out, quality control, subcontractor coordination, and ensuring all works are delivered to Irish standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day engineering activities on site.

• Coordinate with site management, subcontractors, and design teams to ensure project milestones are achieved.

• Perform setting-out for all civil and structural elements.

• Ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Irish building regulations.

• Review drawings, technical specifications, and resolve site issues.

• Prepare daily/weekly reports, as-built documentation, and quality records.

• Manage inspections, QA/QC processes, and ensure adherence to the project programme.

• Liaise with local authorities, utilities, and stakeholders as required.

Requirements

• Proven track record delivering civil engineering projects in Ireland (essential).

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a site engineering role.

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

• Strong knowledge of Irish construction standards, regulations, and procedures.

• Experience with setting-out equipment (Total Station / GPS).

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.

• Safe Pass and Manual Handling (or willingness to obtain).
