Key requirements:
  • Manage and lead the staff in the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Ensure all dishes meet the required standards and are of a high quality
  • Ensure that appropriate hygiene and safety rules are adhered to in the kitchen
  • Assist in menu planning, ordering, stock control and costing
  • Prepare and cook dishes to the highest standard
  • Monitor and control the portion size and quality of the dishes
  • Delegate tasks to junior staff members, providing guidance and support
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and kept in perfect working order
  • Train and develop junior staff members to the required standards
  • Supervise the kitchen and dining areas to ensure they are clean and tidy
  • Ensure that all food items are stored correctly and in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Monitor food waste and ensure it is kept to a minimum
