Our client-leading catering company is on the lookout for an experienced chef to work evening shifts in one of their Cork locations. This is an excellent opportunity for a culinary professional looking to start their career in contract catering. The evening chef would be responsible for all aspects of the evening service and be able to work on their own initiative.
Responsibilities:
- Follow directions from the head chef and be responsible for all aspects of the evening service.
- Oversee the preparation of dishes, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensuring kitchen staff adhere to set standards, procedures, department rules and sanitation requirements.
- Managing the kitchen inventory, ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality, and managing food costs to meet budgetary goals.
- Ensuring proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage afterward.
- Keeping the workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organized and sanitized.
- Act as a role model for kitchen staff, promoting a positive and professional work environment.
- Promote a welcoming work environment for staff and customers.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a chef de partie in a high-volume restaurant or catering establishment.
- A culinary trained professional who is passionate and curious to develop and grow as a chef.
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on creativity, flavor, and presentation.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food safety practices, and menu development.
- Ability to work as a team member and on their own initiative.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
