Job Title: Bar Manager

Location: Clifden, Co. Galway

Role Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Reports To: General Manager


About the Role:
Our client, a well-regarded hospitality venue located in the heart of Connemara, is seeking an experienced and passionate Bar Manager to lead their bar operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on hospitality professional to take ownership of a busy and characterful bar, known for its welcoming atmosphere, quality offering, and strong local and tourist trade.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high service standards, and driving the commercial performance of the bar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the bar, ensuring smooth and efficient service
  • Lead, train, and motivate the bar team to deliver excellent customer service
  • Maintain high standards across beverage quality, presentation, and cleanliness
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
  • Drive sales through upselling, promotions, and creative beverage offerings
  • Ensure full compliance with licensing laws, health & safety, and company policies
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve any issues professionally
  • Work closely with senior management to achieve financial targets and business goals

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Bar Manager or senior supervisory role within a busy bar or hotel environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of beverages, including cocktails, wines, and beers
  • Commercially aware with experience managing costs and driving revenue
  • Customer-focused with a passion for delivering high-quality service
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak seasonal periods
  • Knowledge of Irish licensing laws and health & safety standards
