Reports To: General Manager / Club Committee

About the Role

Our client, a well-established sports and social club in Cork, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Bar Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a busy members’ bar and function space.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hospitality professional who enjoys a community-focused environment, values high standards of service, and is comfortable managing both people and operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining excellent customer experience while ensuring compliance, efficiency, and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operation of the bar, ensuring smooth and efficient service
  • Lead, train, and motivate bar staff to deliver consistently high standards
  • Manage stock control, ordering, wastage, and supplier relationships
  • Ensure full compliance with licensing laws, health & safety, and food safety standards
  • Handle cash management, tills, and basic financial reporting
  • Coordinate bar operations for match days, events, and private functions
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and customer care
  • Work closely with club management to improve service, sales, and member experience

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Bar Manager, Assistant Bar Manager, or Senior Supervisor
  • Strong knowledge of bar operations, stock control, and licensing requirements
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Organised, reliable, and comfortable working in a hands-on role
  • Experience in a sports club, social club, hotel bar, or busy pub is highly advantageous
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, particularly around events and fixtures
