Job description

Our client, a well-known grocery store chain, is looking for a Baker to join their bread production kitchen. As a baker, you will be responsible for following recipes, mixing ingredients, and creating a variety of breads and rolls. You will also be responsible of guaranteeing quality and freshness, as well as keeping the work area clean and safe.

42-hour week, 5am-12pm shift, 5 days over a 7-day rotating schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow recipes and instructions to prepare various types of breads and rolls
  • Measure, weigh, and combine ingredients with mixers, blenders, scales, and other baking tools
  • Monitor oven temperatures, baking times, and ingredient measurements to achieve optimal results
  • Check the appearance, taste, texture, and expiration dates to ensure product quality and freshness
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by following hygiene and safety requirements
  • Work efficiently and effectively to meet production goals and deadlines, demonstrating a strong work ethic

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a baker in a commercial bakery or similar environment
  • Ability to work early morning shifts, starting at 5am, and flexibility to work 5 days over 7 as needed
  • Knowledge of baking techniques, recipes, and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for producing high-quality baked goods
  • Food safety certification or training is a plus
