Our Client is a vibrant and thriving establishment known for its exceptional bar experiences and top-notch customer service. We seek a talented and motivated Assistant Bar Manager to join our Client team and support the Bar Manager in overseeing all aspects of the bar operations.

As the Assistant Bar Manager, you will work closely with the Bar Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the bar. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of service, training and motivating the bar staff, and managing day-to-day bar operations. Your exceptional bar-tending skills, strong leadership abilities, and passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences will be essential in contributing to the overall success of our bar.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Bar Manager to develop and implement bar strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance guest satisfaction and profitability.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising the bar staff, providing guidance and support to ensure a high level of performance.
  • Work closely with the Bar Manager to create innovative and appealing drink menus that cater to diverse guest preferences and trends.
  • Maintain excellent product knowledge, staying up-to-date with the latest cocktail trends, spirits, and mycology techniques.
  • Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, ordering, and stock rotation to minimize waste and maximise profitability.
  • Ensure the bar area is well-maintained, clean, and organized, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Assist in monitoring sales and revenue targets, analyzing performance data, and implementing strategies to achieve financial goals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with guests, addressing inquiries, and resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
  • Help maintain a positive work environment, fostering teamwork, and promoting a strong sense of camaraderie among the bar staff.
  • Support the Bar Manager in conducting regular staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations.
  • Assist in coordinating special events and promotions, ensuring seamless execution and maximum guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the Bar Manager on marketing initiatives and social media strategies to promote the bar’s offerings and attract new customers.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and new products, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in bar-tending and/or bar management, preferably in a high-volume establishment or reputable bar.
  • Strong bar-tending skills, with a comprehensive knowledge of mixology, spirits, cocktails, and bar equipment.
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the hospitality industry, especially pertaining to bar operations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and exceeding expectations.
  • Creativity and the ability to develop new and exciting drink offerings.
  • Proficiency in using bar management software and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
