Noel Group is currently recruiting on behalf of a leading public sector organisation for a Committee Governance & Administration Lead (Grade 7). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced governance professional to play a key role in supporting the effective operation of a high-profile committee environment.
The successful candidate will lead the administration, coordination, and governance activities of the Housing Committee, ensuring meetings, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communications are delivered to the highest professional standards. This role requires exceptional organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Committee Governance & Coordination
- Lead the administration and governance functions of the Housing Committee.
- Coordinate with senior management to develop and finalise agendas.
- Ensure all committee documentation is prepared, reviewed, approved, and distributed in a timely manner.
- Prepare and maintain Chair briefing notes, tracking decisions, actions, correspondence, and emerging issues.
- Support committee leadership in achieving strategic objectives.
Meeting & Agenda Management
- Coordinate all committee meetings and logistical arrangements.
- Manage the circulation of agendas and supporting papers.
- Attend meetings and ensure accurate capture of discussions, decisions, and actions.
- Draft, review, and finalise meeting minutes.
- Monitor and track action items arising from committee meetings.
Quality Assurance & Document Control
- Review reports and updates submitted by working groups.
- Assess documentation for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and potential organisational impact.
- Recommend amendments and seek clarification where required.
- Approve documents for publication and circulation.
- Maintain high standards of document presentation and governance compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with committee members, working groups, local authorities, and other key stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on governance processes and committee procedures.
- Coordinate information requests, surveys, and reporting requirements.
- Support senior management in addressing emerging issues and priorities.
Records Management & Governance Administration
- Maintain accurate governance records and committee documentation.
- Ensure timely publication and distribution of approved documents.
- Promote best practice in records management and document control.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Significant experience in committee administration and governance.
- Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.
- Experience managing agendas, minutes, action logs, and meeting documentation.
- Strong quality assurance and document review experience.
- Exceptional organisational and coordination skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent record-keeping and document management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Desirable Experience
- Experience supporting boards, committees, steering groups, or governance bodies.
- Previous experience within the public sector, local government, housing sector, or a related environment.
- Knowledge of governance frameworks, procedures, and best practice.
