Our Client is seeking a highly organised and analytical Data Officer to provide temporary cover for a 2-month period. The successful candidate will support the collection, management, analysis, and reporting of key operational data, ensuring accurate and timely information is available to support business decisions and project delivery.

This role is ideal for a data-focused professional with strong analytical skills, experience working with databases and reporting tools, and the ability to manage multiple data streams while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, validate, cleanse, and maintain data from multiple sources.
  • Produce regular reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for internal stakeholders.
  • Support the development and maintenance of automated data processes and reporting solutions.
  • Analyse data trends and provide insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor data quality and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Assist with the management and administration of databases and data repositories.
  • Support stakeholders with data requests, reporting requirements, and technical queries.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to data management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and GDPR requirements.
  • Contribute to ongoing business improvement initiatives through data analysis and reporting.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree or qualification in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a data management, data analytics, or reporting role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Experience working with databases and SQL.
  • Knowledge of data cleansing, validation, and reporting processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience using Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Knowledge of data visualisation and dashboard development.
  • Experience with Python, R, or other data analysis tools.
  • Understanding of automated data pipelines and data integration processes.
  • Experience working within public sector, housing, infrastructure, or project-based environments.
