Job Title: Warehouse Manager
Location: South Dublin
Salary: €50,000 – €60,000
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time position
Reporting to: Managing Director
Overview
An established and growing distributor in South Dublin is seeking a hands-on Warehouse & Logistics Manager to take ownership of day-to-day operations across two sites. This is a highly operational role, with approximately 80% of time spent on the warehouse floor and 20% on administration, planning and reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end movement of goods, inventory accuracy, delivery performance, team supervision and operational standards, ensuring customers receive an efficient and professional service at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Logistics
* Plan and schedule daily delivery routes for the company fleet.
* Coordinate and monitor third-party carrier shipments.
* Manage day-to-day activities of delivery drivers, including workload allocation, scheduling and issue resolution.
* Handle delivery exceptions, failed deliveries and redelivery requirements.
* Coordinate supplier collections and stock transfers between locations.
* Work closely with customer service and sales teams to resolve delivery-related queries.
Goods In
* Oversee all goods-in activities, including receipting deliveries against purchase orders and ensuring timely put-away of stock.
* Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, shortages and over-deliveries.
* Manage damaged goods processes and liaise with suppliers and carriers regarding claims and replacements.
* Ensure all incoming stock is accurately recorded within the warehouse management system.
Goods Out
* Lead picking, packing and dispatch operations, maintaining high levels of accuracy and efficiency.
* Manage customer collections and dispatch documentation.
* Ensure orders are prioritised, staged and released in accordance with agreed delivery schedules.
* Maintain service levels while supporting continuous improvement of warehouse processes.
Inventory & Stock Control
* Manage the rolling stock count programme and ensure counts are completed as scheduled.
* Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
* Maintain stock accuracy and warehouse location integrity across all storage locations.
* Identify and report slow-moving, obsolete and damaged inventory.
* Drive best practice stock control procedures across the operation.
Systems & Reporting
* Ensure all warehouse and logistics transactions are accurately processed through the company’s ERP/WMS system.
* Promote effective use of handheld scanners, barcode systems and warehouse technology.
* Monitor operational KPIs and provide regular reports to senior management.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives through data and performance analysis.
Team Leadership & Site Management
* Supervise warehouse operatives and drivers on a day-to-day basis.
* Plan rotas, holidays and resource allocation to meet operational demands.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation and site presentation.
* Ensure compliance with all health, safety and operational procedures.
* Foster a positive, accountable and customer-focused team culture.
Candidate Profile
* Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics or distribution management role.
* Strong understanding of goods-in, goods-out and stock control processes.
* Experience managing drivers and warehouse teams.
* Proven ability to organise workloads and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong systems and reporting skills, ideally within an ERP or warehouse management system.
* Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to work alongside the team.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
