Job Title: Maintenance Electrician
Salary: €55,000 – €60,000
Location: County Roscommon
Contract Type: Full-Time Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business in County Roscommon.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a close-knit maintenance team within a modern production facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of plant equipment.
The site has been operating successfully for many years, has a strong customer base, and continues to invest in its people and operations. This position offers long-term career stability and the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of a respected manufacturing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of the maintenance team to support daily production operations.
- Carry out maintenance activities with a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Deliver preventative and reactive maintenance to maximise equipment reliability.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete assigned work using the site’s CMMS.
- Install new electrical circuits and containment systems and support commissioning activities.
- Repair, maintain, and replace electrical equipment as required.
- Manage electrical spare parts and inventory.
- Install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and associated equipment.
- Perform periodic testing of electrical systems and circuits.
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Provide call-out support during equipment breakdowns when required.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- National Craft Certificate (Electrical).
- Mechanical knowledge with experience working on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of PLC control systems would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Previous experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment (food manufacturing experience desirable but not essential).
- Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Strong fault-finding, repair, and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
