A Relief Chef works across multiple contract catering sites in Athlone, providing temporary cover and support where needed. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to adapt quickly to different kitchens and teams while maintaining high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals in line with site menus and client requirements
  • Adapt quickly to different kitchen environments and service styles
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and portion control
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP regulations
  • Support kitchen teams during busy periods
  • Assist with stock control and minimise food waste
  • Follow company policies and site-specific procedures
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a chef in contract catering or similar environments
  • Full driving licence and access to a car (essential for travel between sites)
  • Minimum Food Safety Level 2 certification
  • Manual Handling certificate
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly
  • Strong knowledge of hygiene and safety standards
  • Reliable, organised, and flexible approach to work
