Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily management and operation of the hotel bar, ensuring exceptional service standards at all times.
- Lead, motivate, and support the bar team to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
- Supervise service periods, ensuring efficient operation and strong attention to detail.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of bar staff.
- Prepare and manage staff rosters in line with business requirements.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and support effective inventory management.
- Assist with beverage menu development, promotions, and seasonal offerings.
- Ensure all licensing laws, HACCP procedures, health and safety standards, and company policies are adhered to.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve service issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Support the achievement of departmental budgets, revenue targets, and cost controls.
- Maintain strong communication with the kitchen, restaurant, events, and wider hotel teams.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure presentation, cleanliness, and service standards are maintained.
- Assist in cash handling procedures, end-of-day reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
- Lead by example, creating a positive and professional working environment.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a hotel bar, restaurant, or high-volume hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Passion for food, beverage, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, and current beverage trends.
- Experience with stock control, ordering, and cost management.
- Good understanding of licensing legislation, HACCP, and health & safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Must have legal entitlement to work in Ireland.
Desirable
- Previous experience within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
- WSET qualification or equivalent beverage certification.
- Experience using hospitality EPOS systems.
- Knowledge of cocktail creation and beverage menu development.
