Clerical Officer
Location: Athlone
Hours: 35 hours per week
Duration: Immediate Start – 1 month
Role Overview
Our client is currently seeking a Clerical Officer to support a busy reception and administrative office environment. The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and external stakeholders while providing a high standard of administrative support and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a busy reception desk and greet visitors professionally
- Handle incoming phone calls, emails, and general enquiries
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the wider team
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper filing systems
- Input and update records and databases
- Assist with scheduling meetings and managing calendars where required
- Support document preparation, scanning, filing, and data entry tasks
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with GDPR procedures
- Provide flexible support across departments as required
Requirements
- Previous experience in a busy reception or administrative environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
- Professional, friendly, and customer-focused manner
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality awareness
Additional Information
- 35 hours per week
- Immediate start available
- Public sector experience advantageous but not essential
