Topman( Confined space operative)

Job description

Noel Group are seeking a trained and safety-conscious Confined Space Operative to carry out inspection, maintenance, cleaning, repair, and support work in confined spaces while complying with all health and safety regulations. The successful candidate will follow permit-to-work systems, use specialist safety equipment, and work closely with supervisors and rescue teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter and work safely in confined spaces including tanks, chambers, silos, sewers, ducts, shafts, and pipelines.
• Conduct pre-entry safety checks and risk assessments.
• Use gas detection and monitoring equipment before and during entry.
• Wear and maintain appropriate PPE and respiratory protective equipment (RPE).
• Follow confined space permits and site safety procedures.
• Assist with cleaning, maintenance, repair, installation, or inspection tasks.
• Maintain communication with attendants and supervisors during operations.
• Set up ventilation, barriers, rescue systems, and access equipment.
• Respond appropriately to emergency procedures and evacuation protocols.
• Complete safety documentation and incident reports accurately.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Valid Confined Space Entry certification (Medium Risk).
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to use gas monitors, harnesses, tripods, breathing apparatus, and rescue equipment.
• Good physical fitness and ability to work in challenging environments.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• CSCS card or equivalent.
• First Aid certification beneficial.
• Experience in industrial, construction, utilities, or maintenance environments preferred.
