Electrical Design Engineer – Cork

Full-Time Permanent Position | Hybrid Working | 35 Hour Week

A leading Irish engineering consultancy is currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding Cork office. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to work on high-profile multidisciplinary projects within a progressive and innovation-driven environment focused on sustainable engineering solutions.

The Role

The successful candidate will support the delivery of electrical building services designs across a range of commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical design layouts, calculations, schematics, and technical specifications
• Assist in the design of lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, and building services systems
• Liaise with design teams, suppliers, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout project delivery
• Support site surveys, technical meetings, project documentation, and QA processes
• Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Previous experience within electrical building services or M&E consultancy environments
• Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software
• Strong understanding of electrical system design within construction projects
• Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
