Tendering Engineer (M&E)

€65,000 – €70,000 + Benefits | Full-Time Permanent Position | Carlow

A leading Irish engineering contractor within the water and infrastructure sector is currently seeking an experienced Tendering Engineer (M&E) to join their growing team based in Carlow. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and technically strong engineering professional to join a well-established business delivering complex MEICA projects across Ireland.

The Role

Reporting directly to senior management, the successful candidate will play a key role in the preparation, coordination, and submission of high-quality technical and commercial tenders across a range of mechanical and electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate technical and commercial tender submissions from enquiry stage through to final submission
• Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to develop practical and cost-effective engineering solutions
• Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders during the tender process
• Develop accurate cost estimates including labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor packages
• Support post-tender negotiations, clarifications, and value engineering activities

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
• Minimum 10 years’ experience within a MEICA engineering environment
• Previous experience in tendering, estimating, or project engineering roles
• Strong technical understanding across Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation disciplines
• Experience within the water/wastewater sector would be highly advantageous
