Role: Financial Accountant

Location: Dublin 2 / Hybrid (2 days onsite)

Contract: Temporary 3 Month Assignment (Full Time)

Hours: 35 Hours per week

Sector: Public

Salary: Grade VII (Health Sector Salary Scale) €60,613 per annum.

Role Description
Responsible for preparing financial statements, reconciliations, cost analysis, and reports, while supporting financial control, governance, and audit processes. The role involves liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g. auditors, banks, suppliers) and supporting the Finance Unit as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare annual financial statements and support external audit processes
• Maintain budgetary control and provide financial insights/recommendations
• Produce timely financial and management reports
• Support internal and external audits, including documentation and queries
• Contribute to financial systems development and process improvements
• Supervise and support finance staff
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with 3+ years’ experience
• Experience in financial and management accounting, audits, and reporting
• Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
• Proficient in financial systems and reporting tools.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Desirable

• Previous experience in healthcare or public sector.
• Strong experience in supporting auditing functions.
• Availability for immediate start is advantageous.
