About the Role:
Our client, a well-established and high-profile hospitality group, is seeking an experienced and driven General Manager to lead one of its flagship venues in Galway. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a commercially astute hospitality professional with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences, developing high-performing teams, and driving business growth.

The successful candidate will take full ownership of the venue’s day-to-day operations, ensuring the highest standards across service, food and beverage delivery, compliance, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of daily operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a large team across front and back of house
  • Drive revenue growth through effective cost control, upselling, and local marketing initiatives
  • Maintain exceptional standards of customer service and guest satisfaction
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety, licensing, and company policies
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting, with accountability for P&L performance
  • Recruit, train, and retain top talent, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Collaborate with senior management on strategic planning and business development

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or senior management role within a high-volume bar, restaurant, or late-night venue
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering financial results
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Passion for hospitality with a customer-first mindset
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance, licensing laws, and health & safety standards
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak trading periods
