Job Title: Logistics Coordinator
Department: Operations
Reports to: Logistics Manager
Location: Dublin West
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to support end-to-end transport and distribution activities, including route planning, export/import coordination, and administration across a busy logistics function.
The role is responsible for ensuring efficient and cost-effective use of contracted transport, maintaining high service levels, and ensuring full compliance with GDP (Good Distribution Practice), food safety standards (BRCGS), and all relevant transport legislation.
This is a hands-on operational role requiring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate transport routes for both domestic and international shipments (road, sea, and air)
- Manage export and import logistics processes in line with operational requirements
- Optimise fleet utilisation and contracted haulage to meet service and cost targets
- Monitor transport spend and support adherence to departmental budgets
- Maintain accurate logistics records, documentation, and reporting systems
- Ensure compliance with GDP, food safety (BRCGS), and all applicable regulatory requirements
- Support compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and environmental procedures
- Liaise effectively with internal teams, customers, and external transport providers
- Oversee daily transport activities including delivery confirmations and scheduling updates
- Support incident reporting, including accidents, near misses, and corrective actions
- Coordinate vehicle inspections, maintenance schedules, and compliance checks
- Ensure drivers and transport teams maintain required standards of professionalism and presentation
- Support continuous improvement of logistics systems, processes, and technology adoption

Qualifications & Training (Desirable or Required)
- Food Safety Level 1
- GDP (Good Distribution Practice) awareness/training
- ADR awareness (Dangerous Goods by Road)
- IMDG Code awareness (Sea freight)
- Fire Warden training
- First Aid certification
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience in logistics, transport coordination, or supply chain operations
- Strong understanding of transport compliance and regulatory environments
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Competence with logistics systems and administrative tools
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
