A growing organisation within the food import, wholesale, retail, and food service sector is seeking a Food Quality Assurance Officer to support food safety compliance across multiple business operations.

The business operates across a diverse product range including ambient, chilled, and frozen categories, and continues to expand its footprint within the Irish market.

The Role
The Food Quality Assurance Officer will work across multiple business areas to ensure full compliance with HACCP and food safety regulations.

This role involves monitoring systems, supporting audits, delivering training, and maintaining documentation to ensure high standards are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HACCP systems across wholesale, retail, and food service operations
• Conduct regular internal audits and site visits
• Ensure food safety records are maintained accurately
• Liaise with regulatory bodies
• Respond to external audits and inspection requests
• Manage product alerts, withdrawals, and recall procedures
• Keep up to date with legislative changes affecting food importation and retail
• Deliver food safety workshops and training sessions
• Educate staff on hygiene, storage, and cross-contamination prevention
• Identify risks within food handling processes and implement preventative controls

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field
• Minimum 2 years’ food safety experience
• Experience in a multi-site food business
• Strong working knowledge of HACCP
• Internal auditing experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Full clean driving licence

• HACCP Certification
• ISO 22000 Certification
• Experience within food import or distribution
