Job Title: Workshop Technician (Mechanic) – Automotive

Location: Blackpool, County Cork

Salary: Up to €53,500 per year (DOE)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Workshop Technician to join a dynamic and growing automotive service centre in Cork. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of vehicles, providing maintenance, repair, and service to ensure vehicles are returned in excellent condition.

You will work closely with the Service Manager and be responsible for delivering high- quality work while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs on customer vehicles according to industry standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and assess vehicle issues, preparing accurate parts lists and labour estimates.
  • Record all work, parts used, and time spent accurately in the workshop management system.
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness, security, and adherence to Health & Safety regulations.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of tools and spare parts, ordering as required.
  • Assist with roadside repair or vehicle recovery as needed.
  • Support ad hoc tasks as directed by the Service Manager.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Fully qualified motor mechanic (e.g., QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate or equivalent).
  • Completed motor mechanic apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Strong practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
  • Current B Driving Licence.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, capable of working effectively with colleagues at all levels.
