We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Hotel General Manager to lead a dynamic hotel team in Galway. This pivotal senior leadership role is responsible for all aspects of hotel operations, guest experience, financial performance, and team development. You’ll be the face of the property and a trusted strategic partner to ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of all hotel departments – Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Facilities.

Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction and high service standards across every guest touchpoint.

Maintain a visible and engaging leadership presence throughout the hotel.

Own the P&L performance of the hotel – drive revenue, manage costs, monitor forecasts, and lead commercial strategy.

Set and achieve annual financial targets and KPIs, in collaboration with company leadership.

Work with sales & revenue teams to optimise occupancy, RevPAR, and ancillary revenue streams.

Recruit, train, mentor, and retain a high‑performance team of department heads and staff.

Lead by example: coach, develop, and empower teams to deliver memorable service every day.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and guest‑centric culture.

Work closely with hotel ownership and senior executives to develop long‑term plans, capital projects, and brand initiatives.

Ensure compliance with health & safety, legal, and internal standards.

Represent the hotel in the local business community and with suppliers/partners.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven track record in hotel leadership (General Manager or Senior Deputy/Operations Manager level)
- Strong commercial acumen and financial management experience
- Outstanding people leadership and team development skills
- Exceptional communication, decision‑making, and problem‑solving ability
- A passion for guest satisfaction and service excellence
- Flexibility for rostered shifts, including weekends and peak periods
